It is February, and for some of us it is the month of love and romance – Valentine’s Day!
Do you ever wonder why we need to look good? Maybe it is the need to be attractive to other people – the looks, the clothing and the presentation are all important parts of this. Interior design is also about the ‘look’.
Touch And Seduce...
Not everyone has the eye for a ‘seductive’ style. So here are some points to consider. This project shows a two-seater sofa in a cream and brown glove fabric – the fabric is similar to suede. The feel and texture of a material is a very important consideration. Always use material that you want to feel and touch, it is one way to get that luxurious feeling on the sofa! The concept is continued with the use of the colour white. The project uses a white high gloss lacquer side table to create a high end feel to the room. Most of us will display a table lamp, which is just what I did. The tall lamp with is long curvy metal design just invites you to touch it. The looks have been complimented with a handsome bespoke floor vase. Finally, to complete the sofa area, two big mirrors have been used to enhance the sense of spaciousness.

Shows the sofa with the ‘touch me’ look throw, and also two wall mirrors. The sexy side table lamp displayed on the coffee table and the vibrant red wall paper.
Three bespoke floating wall shelves in walnut with built in ambience lighting, and a console table finished in dark brown. All the furniture here is designed for a simple yet elegant look! A tulip grained wood floor is decorated with stainless steel design dots to provide stylish accents. Soft furnishings including floor cushions, a sofa throw, and a rug. All been designed in textured style. Seeing these accessories you just have to touch them!
The wall is softened with a photographic print placed above the plasma screen. The exclusive cream fabric textured wallpaper behind the sofa and the plasma wall is perfect for the seduction concept. This area is separated from the hallway and kitchen area with two floor to ceiling screens. The colour used here is dark brown with squares of red, again providing a textured ‘three dimensional’ look – an interesting visual element to the room. Original art on the wall provides dramatic impact, while vibrant red graphic textured wallpaper adds a luxurious and sexy feel to the room.
To make the room layout more interesting the sofa is strategically positioned at an angle. This creates a relaxed, informal feeling to the square room. A table lamp and up - lighter behind the sofa create an intimate mood - just what a seductive design concept needs! Most of us tend to forget to design the ceiling of our home. Here to create a feeling of space, but not forgetting the seductive atmosphere, a square mirror has been fitted to the ceiling. Thin lines of vibrant red paint have been continued onto the ceiling, creating a point of conversation to talk about while sitting on the sofa!

The wall treatment, the seductive ceiling treatment, ‘point of conversation’ mirrors and focus on the ‘tulip’ floor design and other soft furnishings and items displayed in the room.
Shhh...
Finally, besides colour and furniture, getting the lighting right is important as it can create ‘moods’ within a room. In this project the lights are used to provide general illumination and also create ambient mood lighting.
Remember; keep it to a few key colours - red, brown, white and cream, and use textured accessories where possible.
Shhh... Your ‘seduction’ room design is complete!
