The USA Ceiling Queen

In the decorative paint and plaster field the decoration of the“5th” wall (ceilings) has became more predominant in recent years. Beautiful work in all disciplines is practiced in many countries. But in the United States one young lady, Tania Seabock, specializes in what she refers to as "extreme ceilings” which has accredited her the title, on this side of the ocean, of “the Ceiling Queen”.

She is the only person that we have every heard of who has made ceilings her primary focus in such a way that her design and application is a stand-alone skill. A mosaic effect that requires the combined expertise of a craftsman in architectural gilding, the artistic ability to render trompe l’oeil and the detail precision of a mathematical draftsman. Her love and study of math, art and the masters is revealed and revered with every new commission. Motivated by the historic accomplishments of the Renaissance masters and the work by artisans of Eastern cultures Tania’ work becomes increasingly intricate with every passing year.

Many in the USA have heard of her artistic abilities, her unusual background in the arts and the journey she took to acquire the highly technical skills her type of design requires. Our slide compilation of her work will definitely answer your visual questions, but for our readers in other countries it would be unfair to leave you without a brief foray into Tania’s background. It is that unusual. Her journey took her first to university for the study of Mathematics and Biology, then to Mortuary Science for a degree in Embalming and Funeral Science. She worked as a Mortician for 4 years and then moved into sculpting and molding. Ever step of the way she built a successful career. In 2000 she began her decorative painting business and in 2004 she transplanted her entire family to France to attend the Nadai-Verdon School of Decorative Painting. Not your usual background for any artist and we have just barely touched on her learned disciplines. Upon her return to the United States Tania finally considered her palette of skills somewhat complete enough to initiate her ceiling portfolio.
